A New Indigenous Court…

Our Cultural Initiative Lead and our Admissions Clerk were invited to join a meeting at the Calgary Court Centre today to see how we can be of service to Indigenous people coming through the court system and working toward supporting these people by having fewer conditions and more specific healing plans, more suited to help people with addictions. A new Indigenous Court is in the works and is being pitched in the near future in the hopes of being approved to help all Nations get the help they need to heal from past and present intergenerational trauma. Agencies, Prosecutor’s, and Legal Aid came together today to build connections. It was wonderful experience for our agency!
